The Clinton Township School District has some of the best staff around! Not only do they excel at educating our students, but they are caring, compassionate and make a lasting impression on our children.

Counseling Staff at CTSD

"School Counselors: Helping Build Better Humans”

 

 

Carole Frey

 

Carole Frey has been a counselor in our school district since 2005. She has worked with grades K-5 in Spruce Run, Patrick McGaheran, and Round Valley Schools, and believes that she has the best job in the world! Carole is the antibullying specialist and the Intervention & Referral Services coordinator for PMG and has been a member of the PTA as well as many other school committees over the years. She is passionate about mental health education and helping children learn to navigate the social situations that are a part of their day. Carole has been a mentor to several student counselors over the years and has enjoyed presenting on mental health topics for our staff.

 

Alex Ruttenberg

 

Alex Ruttenberg grew up in New York City and majored in Film Studies at college, then moved to LA to work in the entertainment industry. (If you watch The Horse Whisperer, try to spot him in a very brief cameo about five minutes into the movie.) He changed direction after eight years and went back to school where he got Masters degrees in Psychology, Social Work and Educational Counseling through Rutgers and Rider University. Alex and his wife live with their two teenage boys in Hunterdon County and he coaches his sons in rec baseball and basketball, and enjoys skiing and traveling with his family. Alex joined the Clinton Township School District in 2010 as the school counselor at Spruce Run. He spent eight years at Spruce Run, one at Patrick McGaheran, and is now in his first year at Round Valley. Although Alex loved the years of working with the littlest students in the district, he is also enjoying the change and challenge of the older students at Round Valley.

 

Christina Giordano

 

Christina Giordano grew up in Massachusetts 20 minutes northwest of Boston. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Later she obtained a master’s degree in counseling psychology with a specialization in school counseling from Lesley University. In 2005 Christina moved from Massachusetts to the Delaware Water Gap in Pennsylvania and then four years later moved to Warren County, NJ where she lives today with her husband, their 5 year old daughter and their 9 year old dog Maxwell. Human support services has always been an area of interest to Christina as she has spent over 10 years working with adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities for non-profit agencies as well as for the State of NJ. Prior to working for Clinton Township School District Christina was a school counselor in Newton, NJ. Christina has been working as a School Counselor for the Clinton Township School District since the 2012-2013 school year.

2019 CTSD Educators of The Year

 

Maggie Bradford

 

Maggie Bradford is a proud graduate of Clinton Township School District and North Hunterdon High Class of 2001. She joined the Clinton Township School District 9 years ago. She has been a Special Educator in Kindergarten, Resource Room teacher in 1st and 2nd, a Literacy Support teacher and most recently a Preschool Inclusion Teacher. She is currently on maternity leave enjoying her new baby daughter with her son Nolan and husband. 

 

 

Sandy Fitzpatrick

 

Sandy Fitzpatrick has lived in Hunterdon County for most of her life. She graduated from North Hunterdon High School and East Stroudsburg University. She has been an educator within the Clinton Township School District for a total of 16 years, beginning her career in 1995. She then took several years off to stay home with her three children when they were little, returning to CTSD in 2009. She has taught Kindergarten and First Grade.

Sandy believes that a classroom should be a safe caring place where all children are comfortable emotionally, socially and physically so that they can express themselves and learn to their fullest ability. A favorite quote of hers is "Childhood is a journey, not a race.” 

 

 

Jennifer Desjadon

 

Jennifer Sandorse-Desjadon is a local resident and former student of Round Valley School. She began teaching at Round Valley in 2007 as a fourth-grade teacher. She enjoyed learning from and working with her amazing colleagues in the grade level.  Jennifer developed a love of teaching English Language Arts and helping to develop curriculum. After ten years she had an opportunity to become the Enrichment teacher at RVS and Jennifer was excited for the opportunity. In this position, she helps organize School Council, the school newspaper and memory book. She believes that a teacher’s job to give students opportunities to discuss, question, critique and create so they can do great things beyond the classroom.

 

 

Diane Cormican

 

Our CTMS Enrichment teacher, Diane Cormican, joined CTSD as a veteran teacher in 2003.  Born and raised in Michigan, she taught in Michigan, Malaysia and Mexico before moving to New Jersey. Ms. Cormican organizes our annual Relay for Life, which is having out 10th anniversary in 2020!  She has also worked with the students to transform the middle school courtyard into a beautiful, artistic GARTen. Ms. Cormican is a graduate from Northern Michigan University, Grand Valley State University, and is now taking classes at Rutgers for a Gifted and Talented certification.

Juliann Tremaine

 

Juliann Tremaine has been a one-on-one instructional aid in the Clinton Township School District for 18 years. Her roots are at Spruce Run School, where she has spent all those years. The majority of the time has been instructing Applied Behavior Analysis in the pre-school disabled classroom. She has participated in many ABA training sessions as well as an online instructional program enabling her to apply for an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification. Julie feels all children, especially those with disabilities, should have an equal opportunity to learn. Her job is to support the needs of those students and provide them with a positive learning experience.

 

 

Allison Lefebvre

 

Allison Lefebvre obtained certification in School Psychology in New Jersey in 1997. While earning her doctorate (Psy.D.) at Rutgers, Allison was a clinical services coordinator and clinician at the Rutgers Psychological Clinic, focusing on children and young adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, learning disabilities, anxiety and depression. She worked in several school districts before joining Clinton Township School District in 2009, primarily at the preschool and early elementary school levels as a case manager, but also serving as the district’s transition coordinator to Hunterdon County’s Early Intervention, for those children needing special education starting at age 3. Allison currently works at both Spruce Run School and Patrick McGaheran School. In addition to case management, Allison also provides psychological consultations, conducts psychological evaluations, and provides individual and group counseling.

Judy Johnson is a lifelong resident of the area.  She grew up in Bethlehem Township and is a graduate of North Hunterdon High School.  She holds a BS in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education and a MS in Special Education from East Stroudsburg University.  She has taught 3rd, 4th, and her current 5th grade in the Clinton Township School District for the past 25 years.

Jean Kinkead joined the Clinton Township School district in September of 1994.  She has taught fifth through eighth grade in a variety of positions.  She was a special educator in the district for her first 19 years in both resource room and in-class support. Currently, she is our math coach at the middle school. Jean was involved in the Clinton Township community at the start of her career coaching traveling team soccer for girls. She continued with her love of soccer and coached the Round Valley Middle School girls team for ten years prior to having children of her own. As well, Jean had been involved in running the school newspaper, and chaperoning many dances over the years. Her passion for education has carried over in her presenting to the staff, mentoring new teachers, having her students present at Board of Education meetings, as well as participating in many district committees and initiatives. Her philosophy is to make a difference each and every day in the life of a child.
