8th Grade Year End Activities

Eighth Grade is year of accomplishment, growth, and change. It is the end of middle school - on the precipice of high school life. Academic expectations are increasing, with students discovering their interests and passions in life, perhaps even lighting the spark that ignites their future careers. Social lives are increasing in importance, as well.

To celebrate their achievements, provide social opportunities, and let loose and have fun, the PTA plans activities JUST for 8th graders. This is in addition to the CTMS-wide social events during the school year.

What we can do is wholly dependent on their "Class of" fundraising that has been achieved during their middle school years. The primary fundraiser for "Class of" accounts is the annual Tricky Tray, run by a class during their 7th grade year.

Past Activities Have Included

  • Boardwalk or other themed social, for 8th graders only
  • Field trip
  • Yearbook signing day with free yearbooks
  • Graduation day support
  • And more!

What your class can do may be similar or different, depending on your fundraising efforts.

How do we earn "Class of" money?

  • Direct donations to your grade's "Class of" accounts. This can be found in our PTA Online Store.
  • Running the RVS Talent Show snack bar during your grade's 5th year.
  • Your grade's cut of social entry fees over their middle school years.
  • Tricky Tray fundraiser during your grade's 7th grade year.
  • Graduation lawn sign sale.
  • And more!

Have an idea to benefit your grade? The more active and involved your grade's parents are in fundraising, the bigger and more exciting your student's 8th grade year will be!
