Tricky Tray Rescheduled
In order to give us the most flexibility due to ever changing Covid levels, it has been decided to shift the Tricky Tray a little later in the year - tentatively April 29 - so we have options for an inside or outside event, as needed.
This also allows for more time to receive donations from parents - now through March 25. Online donations can be made through our PTA Store, or cash/checks/prize items may be sent in to the CTMS office labeled "Tricky Tray donation."
The primary fundraiser for your child’s graduation year events is the Tricky Tray. In previous years, the proceeds of the Tricky Tray may have provided a PTA sponsored class field trip, a themed dance/game night, and much more. What the PTA can provide for your child's graduation year is a direct result of how much we can fundraise now.
In order for this evening to be a success, we are requesting that EVERY 7th grade family provide a donation, and we also must have enough volunteers to run the event. This event cannot happen without 7th grade donations and participation.
There are two options for donations, and you can always chose to do both:
- A direct monetary donation of AT LEAST $25 Please send checks only, payable to Clinton Township PTA. When sending your donation to school, please be sure to label the item with your child's name and homeroom teacher. We are collecting money now. Please send it labeled as PTA Tricky Tray Donation - Angela Pearly.
- Donate a NEW item or a gift certificate for a service, with a value of $25 OR MORE You could make up a themed basket or choose a donation of goods/service that you think would have a lot of interest. Combining forces with other families is a great way to donate a larger, exciting prize that might even be featured as a grand prize. Holiday sales are a great way to get a good prize at a great value. If you are combining your donation with other families, please be sure to list all students in the group along with their homeroom teachers for tracking purposes. We are collecting physical item donations now. They may be sent into school and labeled PTA Trickey Tray Donation - Angela Pearly.
If you work for a company that would like to donate a prize or a service, or you have a strong relationship with a local merchant, please contact CTMSTrickyTray2022@gmail.com
If you have financial hardship, the PTA can help cover your donation cost - please reach out to your child's school nurse ASAP for more information.

The district has made several changes to the PTA Winter Parties, which were originally scheduled for Wednesday, December 22.
Pre-K: Wednesday, December 22 THIS REMAINS THE SAME
Grades 1-5: Thursday, December 23 THIS IS A CHANGE
Additionally, since our region is now in the Orange level of Covid activity, the district has implemented further guidelines for the parties. Class parents have been notified and will make adjustments to their plans accordingly.
For the Winter party, all food items and any game, craft, or activity materials must be dropped off in advance, labeled with the teachers' name(s). Class parents will not be in school to run the parties. They will share their plans and materials with their teachers, and the teachers will run the parties. If class parents are requesting donations, they will contact you about that. We are suggesting that class parents collect donations and then make one drop off.
While this isn't what we had hoped for, the kids will still have a great time at their celebrations, and we know our teachers are completely capable of handling the Winter Party Fun for the kids!
If you have any questions about the Winter Parties, please reach out to Shannon Vincenti, our VP of Volunteers, at auntshan@aol.com or to your class parents.

CTSD PTA Statement of Ethics
(Approved 8/9/21)
Data
- All data collected, managed or maintained by the PTA should be used only for PTA related purposes/activities. Information from forms, lists, purchases, etc. are not to be used for personal or non-PTA purposes.
- The exception is the print or digital public directory, by which permission for inclusion is made with the understanding that the CTSD school community has open access to the information published therein.
Communications
- General official communications typically come from the President and the Corresponding Secretary, unless otherwise delegated. The President is the main administrative liaison, and the Corresponding Secretary fields incoming correspondence via email or social media, and either responds or forwards to the relevant board member or coordinator/chair. The Corresponding Secretary also will send flyers in for district approval.
- Coordinators and chairs of programs, events, activities and fundraisers are authorized to directly communicate with their vendors, companies, volunteers, and relevant school staff.
- When communicating with vendors, parents, staff, etc, as a PTA representative, please complete your signature with your PTA title, such as PTA Science Night Chair, to designate the correspondence as official PTA business, in contrast with personal correspondence.
- Group communications, such as room parents emailing student parents or program volunteers, should be blind copied (BCC) to protect privacy. Communications within coordinators, such as book fair inter-school coordinators, need not, as names/contact info for these positions are shared publicly to current membership. Communications within smaller volunteer groups might sometimes be shared for close working volunteers who need to reach each other, such as sometimes is needed during book fair, etc. If unsure, please ask a member of the Executive Board for clarification.
Resources
- PTA supplies are to be used for PTA activities only, and not for personal use or benefit.
- The PTA maintains a general use supply of some materials, such as food serveware, that can be used across multiple events and activities. This prevents accumulating a large duplication of supplies and is more cost effective to purchase. Some programs require supplies to be kept and maintained for specific events, such as book fair. These materials are labeled by activity and should not be used for other programs.
- Check requests for vendors or reimbursement for out of pocket expenses (taxes will not be reimbursed - please use our tax exempt form for purchases) should be submitted through the Treasurer, who should be notified when any big expenses (ie assembly contracts) or income (ie Tricky Tray) are coming. Amazon purchases on our PTA account should be requested via the Treasurer, unless permission is given for another arrangement.

Peter Lerangis visits CTMS
May 4, 2021
Today, the PTA was pleased to sponsor a virtual author assembly for our middle school students. CTMS had the pleasure of hosting Peter Lerangis, author of over 175 books, including the Seven Wonders series. During his visit, Mr Lerangis discussed the writing and editing process using his humorous Powerpoint presentation “The Incredible Life Story of a Writer”. Students were engaged while listening to his creative process for writing, and enjoyed hearing about being asked by the former First Lady, Mrs Laura Bush, to attend the first ever Russian Book Festival. Most importantly, Mr Lerangis emphasized to our students the need to never give up on your dreams, and that the only way to be successful is to fail and learn what you need to improve upon from it. Thanks to Angela Pearly, CTMS Enrichment Coordinator, for bringing this experience to our students.

Read like crazy with Dan Gutman!
February 19, 2021
Today Round Valley School had the amazing honor of hosting author Dan Gutman! Mr Gutman has written 164 books, and is best known for his "My Weird School" humorous chapter books.
During the three virtual assemblies, Mr Gutman discussed his writing process and the nine steps he uses to write his books. He encouraged the students to never give up on their dreams by sharing his rejection letters from publishers, and discussing how he continued to pursue his writing until his books were finally published.
A favorite part of the assemblies for the students was when he shared a sneak peek of the first chapter of his new book, “Miss Aker Is a Maker”, which will be published in June! The students were so excited to hear the excerpt, and were eager to ask lots of questions about his writing and his experiences as an author.
This was a memorable experience for all students (and teachers!) who attended, and we're grateful for the efforts of Angela Pearly, our RVS Assembly Coordinator, to bring Mr Gutman to our school. Every PTA member who pays annual membership dues, or makes a direct donation the PTA, or participates in our fundraisers throughout the year, helps to fund experiences like this for our students. We thank you!

Recruiting homeroom parents!
September 17, 2020
The PTA is now recruiting homeroom parents for all SRS, PMG & RVS classes!
This year, in line with District requirements, all homeroom celebrations will be virtual, and are scheduled as follows:
- Fall celebration (Monday, October 26)
- Winter celebration (Monday, December 21)
- Spring Read Across America celebration (Monday, March 1).
It's a great opportunity for parents who typically may not be available to take on traditional in-person homeroom parent duties, to get involved.
If you are interested in learning more, or would like to volunteer, please complete our Homeroom Parent volunteer form. Our VP of Volunteers, Trish Eosso, will reach out to you once we have gathered all responses, and to answer any questions you may have.
Thank you for your interest! We couldn't do it without you!
Show your CTSD pride with school branded masks!

Welcome back!
September 1, 2020
Hello everyone, it's been a while! The PTA Executive Board warmly welcomes our students, their families and our dedicated teachers to the 2020/21 school year. We are especially excited to "meet" our newest students - our preschoolers at Spruce Run School, our Kindergarteners at Patrick McGaheran School, and our older students who may be new to the district, or attending any one of our schools for the first time.
This is definitely not our typical start to the school year, but the Board is embracing the opportunity to think outside the box and be flexible, as we work on finding fun virtual alternatives to some of our traditional PTA activities. Watch this space! We even have a couple of new events in the works that we hope our students will love.
The best way to stay informed of the latest PTA news is to ensure you are registered here on our website, where you can find our calendar, family directory, event & fundraising flyers, PTA store, and much more! As our flyers will not be back-packed home this year, registering is the only way to ensure you receive all of our important communications throughout the year. If you're a returning family, please log on and take a moment to ensure your family information and directory preferences are both up to date. If you're a new family, please take the time to register. And of course, you can always find us on Facebook!
We hope you will consider renewing your PTA membership for the 2020/2021 school year, or joining us for the first time, to support our activities throughout the year. The need to maintain flexibility in our calendar means that our print calendars will not be offered this year. Likewise, as we are currently unable to safely distribute print directories through our traditional channels, our family directory may be accessed only online, with an active PTA membership. All volunteers at PTA-sponsored events and activities must be current members of Clinton Township PTA.
Good luck to everyone - students, parents and teachers alike - navigating this new version of school, 2020-style, whether in person in one of our buildings, or remotely from a cozy nook in your home!
Thank you, CTSD families!
June 23, 2020
Thanks to the generosity of our CTSD families, the PTA delivered an incredible 894lbs of food and $200 in monetary donations to Open Cupboard Food Pantry this morning!
Thank you so much for helping us help our neighbors!
PTA hosting Food Drive during drop off days!
June 10, 2020
Clinton Township PTA is pleased to sponsor a non-perishable Food Drive in support of Open Cupboard Food Pantry and our wider community during school materials & technology drop off days.
Please consider grabbing an item or two from your pantry on your way out the door to PMG, RVS or CTMS this week and next, when you head out to return your child's items to school.
Look for our collection boxes at each school for easy, no-contact donation.
Any non-perishable food item is welcomed, but Open Cupboard currently have a particular need for canned fruits and vegetables, coffee and apple juice. No glass containers please.
Thank you to the School District and the building principals for their support with this community service project!

As always, we will provide updates via email blast (please ensure your up-to-date contact information is listed in our database), on our PTA Facebook page, and here on the PTA website.

Your Fundraising Dollars At Work!
January 23, 2020
A significant portion of our PTA annual budget is assigned to provide funds to bring Cultural Enrichment assemblies to our schools. Your fundraising dollars allow the PTA to continue to sponsor these fun and interactive educational experiences for your children. Thank you!
PMG students recently experienced Bach 2 Rock: The Science of Sound,
a multimedia presentation by musician Caryn Lin, who transformed sound with her five-string electric violin and a myriad of modern technology. Students experienced a wide range of musical styles, from Bach’s classics to today’s techno-wonders, and learned the scientific concepts and art involved in the creation of live music. Three-dimensional sound waves became visible, bringing music to life before their very eyes - and ears!
Earlier this month, RVS students were treated to a high-energy performance by Ball in the House, a talented R&B/soul/pop a cappella group, who brought the history of a cappella singing to life. From chant to doo wop, through contemporary and classic cover songs, as well as original works, students learned the elements of teamwork and collaboration necessary to create vocal harmonies and beats.

Very special thanks to CTSD staff Mr Tarriff, Mrs Shae, Mr Cosgrave and Mr Shanklin for their invaluble contributions, as well as Alisa Kaeser for coordinating the event, and her volunteers Mr Kiefer, Mr Kaeser and Mrs McGuinness for their help.

PTA Unveils New Online Home!
December 18, 2019
We are excited to introduce the new online home of Clinton Township PTA!
www.clintontownshippta.membershiptoolkit.com
With effect from January 1, 2020, Clinton Township PTA will no longer be affiliated with PT Avenue, and Membership Toolkit will become our new online home!
If you are currently registered with PT Avenue, please register here as a “New User” with the same email address you used for PT Avenue. You will create a new password, and may then proceed to “My Account” > “My PTA” to review Your Family Information, which will already have been transferred from PT Avenue, for accuracy and completeness, and to select your Directory Publishing Preferences.
If you are not currently registered with PT Avenue, please register here as a “New User” with your preferred email address. You may then proceed to “My Account” > “My PTA” to add your Family Information to our database, and to select your Directory Publishing Preferences.
Why Register? Registering with Membership Toolkit is not the same as joining the PTA. Membership Toolkit is the service the PTA utilizes to provide valuable information on our events and activities; to offer updates on our fundraisers; to communicate with our families; and to offer optional PTA membership purchases - all with the convenience of one online home. Once registered, you may:
- Access additional content just for our families
- Complete your database information and designate your directory publishing preferences
- Join our PTA (and pay annual dues), if desired
- Access our online directory (for current PTA members only)
Note: In order to protect the privacy of our volunteers & families, registration/log in is required to access some areas of our website. Access to our online directory will continue to be limited to current PTA members.
